Position Overview: We are seeking highly skilled, ambitious and adaptable Data Analysts with strong expertise in both Excel and PowerPoint to join our dynamic team. Experience of business intelligence tools like Tableau and Power BI is preferable but not essential. The Analyst will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of delivery including pre-sales, review, analysis and implementation of strategic initiatives with blue-chip companies. This role requires an individual who can effectively synthesize complex financial and payments data, create insightful reports, and deliver compelling presentations that drive strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will be a versatile all-rounder, capable of contributing across various finance and business functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Analysis: Perform comprehensive financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and trend identification. Generate actionable insights from data analysis to support informed decision-making.
  2. Reporting: Develop and maintain sophisticated financial reports and dashboards using Excel (in addition to Tableau and/or Power BI where relevant). Ensure accuracy, clarity, and relevance of information presented to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  3. Presentation Creation: Craft persuasive PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate commercial findings, strategies, and recommendations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to visualize data-driven stories for executive-level meetings and investor presentations.
  4. Data Management: Maintain large datasets, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Utilize advanced Excel functions and macros to streamline data manipulation and reporting processes.
  5. Negotiation: Contributing to and leading negotiations for multi-million £ contracts. Producing effective procurement documentation and managing procurement events. Assist with the review of commercial contracts and SLAs for corporate customers.
  6. Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting and analysis processes. Propose and implement improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
  7. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various functions, including finance, operations, and strategy, to gather relevant data and insights. Act as a subject matter expert in business analysis discussions and contribute to cross-functional projects.
  8. Industry and Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes that impact corporate payments and banking arrangements. Apply this knowledge to ensure services delivered are at the cutting edge.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. MBA or relevant professional certification.
  2. Experience in financial analysis, reporting, and modelling.
  3. Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data visualization techniques.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to create engaging presentations that convey complex financial information clearly.
  5. Strong analytical mindset combined with curiosity and attention to detail; ability to see the bigger financial picture.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
  7. Adaptability to changing priorities, deadlines, and business requirements.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvements.
  9. Experience in a similar industry such as payments, cash management or banking is a plus.
